15 October 2013Precarious: Smith Cranes rescues dangling truck on the Old Waimakariri Bridge.
A motorcyclist thrown into a raging river in Canterbury after colliding with a truck clung to a small branch for 40 minutes to avoid being swept away.
Emergency services responded, and Smith Cranes was brought in to recover the truck that was left dangling over the guardrail of the Old Waimakariri Bridge about 7.20am on Tuesday. SOURCE: stuff.co.nz
