31 March 2014Leibherr LG1550 crane gets the Mill Creek Wind Farm underway
Smith Crane & Construction's Liebherr LG1550, New Zealand's largest mobile crane, has successfully assisted in the erection of the first base tower section at Mill Creek Wind Farm, North-West of Wellington.
Smith Cranes is a key provider of services at the Meridian Energy wind farm project which is to features 26 turbines near Ohariu Valley. It will generate up to 59.8 megawatts, producing enough electricity each year for about 30,000 average New Zealand homes.
