Damn fine job: Kato MR220 Rough Terrain Crane perched (literately) 'over the edge' at the Waitaki Dam, North Otago.

Damn fine job: Crane-erecting crane in tight space at Waitaki Dam.

The Kato MR220 Rough Terrain Crane will be used to erect the Potain MC85 Tower Crane on term hire to McConnell Dowell who are assisting with Merdian Energy's erosion control works.

The crane's lake-side outriggers are supported by a beam atop two piles whilst 'short-jacked' outriggers on the other side and a pair of custom-designed ramps provide stability with just 100mm of slew clearance.
