The Potain MC85B 5-Tonne Tower Crane now stands tall above the Waitaki hydro-electric power station in North Otago.
Our experienced rigging team were assisted by the nimble Tidd PC25 which ferried tower crane sections to the site. The Kato MR220 took over the task from its solid (and precarious-looking) perch, lifting in tower crane sections whilst avoiding high-voltage power cables overhead.
This was a fantastic effort by all those involved and shows exactly why Smith Cranes are leaders in this field.
The 30m tower crane is configured with 20m of jib and will be used by McConnell Dowell who are assisting with Merdian Energy's erosion control works at the dam. Do you have a similar type job requirement?
